Just got word that while it was profitable, it won't become a regular event just yet. The Schlotzky's employees are rebelling about extra labor, so no more brunch until that's resolved. |
DAMN that sucks...I'd be happy to help out in the kitchen too! |

Actually, I for one really enjoyed working as a kitchen manager in the past and would care less about the compensation, than just the thrill of working with food in that type of environment again. Sometimes, I see open kitchens in restaurants and I can watch the cooks get down to business during the juice and excitement of a dinner rush, and I just want to jump back there, throw on a hat and run the line. It's such a rush. (Although, I'd imagine that this place would involve cooking for a buffet, which would take away the made-to-order excitement that I like the most.) |

Hmmm - I have about 5 minutes here . . .
Our group left An-yang about 10, arriving there almost exactly at 11. The whole downstairs was a sort of makeshift buffet, but there were methods to the madness.
Food? Hmmm . . . scrambled eggs by the pan, ham, sausage, bacon, creamed beef (we were hoping for cream gravy!), pancakes, toaster waffles, several loaves of grain bread (rye, multi, etc.), popeye's style biscuits, sweet cream butter & jellys/jams, fruit cocktail, western cereals (Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Frosted Cheerios, etc.), donuts, fresh fruit, etc.
Sunny D, oj, coffee (no milk by the glass!!!). Tom & Mohammed were keeping things rolling; in the hour + we were there, there must have been 40+ people, including several larger groups . . .
Pmint & Katydid joined us, and -despite the crappola weather - it was a good time. We also thought/wondered/suspected other Dave's -types, but no one else we were sure of.
I'll pop Tom off an e-m later & see what the status is. I have no idea baout the turnout on Sunday; if they can get stuff sorted out, we'd go 2-3 times/month. There is no question that the Novotel by us has a superior buffet, but at triple the price.
Regards,
G. |

Some of my co-workers went on Sunday and said it was cancelled because of "technical problems."
Of course, I jokingly replied that the technical problem was that I ate all the food on Saturday.

| I'm surprised none of the big hotels have this...all the big places in Thailand and China have it. |

| The COEX one has a brunch. It is killer. An amazing aray of food and exlcellent quality! I highly recommend it. I've only been there for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is called "Baikche" or something like that. It's in the 1st floor or basement. The lunch was more expensive, something lik 35 000won (over 30 anyway) but I thought it was worth it. |

| Damn, just caught up with this thread. What's the deal on this for the future, anyone know? I'm seriously into those kinds of breakfasts, and Itaewon is not too far from me. I'd go twice a month at least ... |

As of now I think it's still dead Kiwi. I don't think the staff "problems" have been worked out yet.
