And it is true...I hate meeting my gf's friends and they always beg me to talk Korean as they think it is so cute. I absolutely hate it |
So, is your cute little Avatar picture your gf, or your gf's friend? Attractive! (Yes, even in Asian's eyes) |

neither, she is ina Korean drama full house.
Her name is Son Hye Gyo and she is good watching.
My g/f matches her, I might put her in my avatar soon.
Obviously, my g/f is blind as in the looks department she has me hands down. |

When I was living in Seoul I really wanted to learn Korean, so I enrolled in YBM. I attended 2 classes and they were nice enough to refund my money for the rest of the lessons. I joined the beginner class, but they went so fast, I could not catch up. And when I joined everypne except me knew the aphabet and how to read already. I was a complete beginner, knowing NOTHING. They were so nice there, but I just could not do it. Now that I can read and write.taught myself. I can read but slowly, wish there was a place here I could learn, but here isnt.
Anyway, reading Korean is needed so u at least can read the bus maps and the resturant menu! |
Go to CLI, above the New York Bakery in Gangnam. Exit 6 I think. Really nice and friendly and they will move at your speed. 180,000 for three mornings a week. 2 hours a time. More expensive than YBM I think, but just as good and more accommodating. |
Sometimes I wonder why some people think everyone lives in Seoul. Didn't he start off with "When I was living in Seoul..."? Wouldn't that make you think he doesn't live there anymore? |

Mashimaro,
I second that.
Phil, the problem seems to lie with your lack of interest for Korea itself. This could explain why you feel this way.
Perhaps moving to a country that holds more interest for you might do the trick? |
Maybe that works for the OP, but what about all of us who are just here for the coin? |

Meeting a gf or a bf is huge. You can enjoy any place in the world if you are getting regular sex. All those complainers probbably havent gotten any for ages. Isnt that right? Anyway, get involved somehow. Do things outside your job that dont include booze or a PC bang. Get onto a sports team or meet friends, study korean, anything to get out of the house and be involved with other people. |
