[quote="marista99"]I'm so glad someone mentioned "culture fatigue"--that's definitely what I"m feeling around now. A lot of the time all I want is to be in an American city, ANY American city...actually anywhere they speak English would do. I actually have dreams about being in a supermarket with all my favorite American foods. It's ridiculous! [quote]
hey, well I went to Itaewon this weekend and it really helped feed that need for English speaking and the need to not be stared at like a freak wherever you go! I highly recommend a big dose of Itaewon to cure that 'culture fatigue'.
As mentioned by some of the helpful posters, it has helped that Im getting more invovled and interested in the way my kids are learning. Or else Im sure it would be 'the same ole same ole'... Im reading a book and looking at my teaching in a new way so it changes things up a bit and makes me a better teacher as well. Takes a bit of free time, but definatly makes teaching more rewarding.
TO KERMO: Kermit the Frog rox! Just to let you know I am not 'taking the punches and asking for more'.. I thanked those who were helpful... not ppl who told me Im not cut out for teaching. Obviously they dont understand where Im coming from. Thankgoodness others do.
Happy Monday to all! (May the weekend come quickly) |

| What I was suggesting is that if your employer is following his part of the bargin, you should follow yours. If he ( or they) don't, then split as quickly as possible. There are lots of pirates in the business in Korea ( and elsewhere). |

Not entirely true. I mean you're right about not screwing the boss over if he's abided by his side of the deal, but on the other hand it's not a prison sentence. If you've exhausted all your other options and are still truly miserable give the notice that's required by the contract. Hope it works out either way. |
