Has anybody worked at a school that has closed down and where the boss allowed them to keep their E2 visa (not cancelled it with Immigration).

My school has about two students and a rabbit and its going down very quickly...ive got 8 months on a visa....has any body else been in this situation?

What good does that do? You cant transfer your visa, meaning you cant work for another school. If he doesnt cancel it then you are stuck.

If you can keep your visa, you could always work privates, or find a hagwan willing to hire you.

Yea, but doesn't your previous boss have the right to blacklist you if they find out and tell immigration?

what crud are you guys talking here?

if the school closes down they will notify the tax office and immigration in order to nullify their responsibilities.

once immigration is notified, the wheels are set in motion, and the employees are released from their visas.
your visa can't be attached to a school that doesn't exist.

Tell your boss you will hand out some flyers for the school. He will be grateful.
