At least a couple of regulars here seem to be affiliated with them in one way or another (at least that's the impression I get).
So what's the deal with them?
Anyone get a job through them?
What's their track-record?

They're legit. I have met them personally, although recently. They are a nice crew of people, and you can trust them, in my opinion.

WorkNPlay signed me up for their spam "newsletter" without my consent.

Code:

/dev/null

I won't be using that site again. As you can see, all email from their domain goes straight into the can.

Before i met them, i was one of the people who got mega-spammed. The woman who is in charge of that had some problem with their new mass-mail program, and she was soooo sorry about it. Mad it happened, too, if memory serves.

Just write them and ask to take it off. I know it's a pain, but if you do that, they'll respond.

If you think of them as an North American organization then you might be left disappointed, but they are legit, and I think by comparison they are a pretty good company.

My experience with them was a little sketchy, but there were reasons behind that and I chalk it up to miscommunication and both sides being a little anxious.

They placed my GF and I know several others they have placed. I wouldn't hesitate in telling someone to use them. They have access to some pretty good jobs including placing for the public school systems and the immersion villages.

Communication is important...follow-up on things..don't assume things...and don't get to worked up if there is a miscommunication...it will get sorted out...

I've noticed that they at least sometimes record interview video of teachers to show to schools. If you are really serious about finding a job, and are willing to do something like that, it could be a helpful thing. At least it shows that they might try a little harder.

There a lot of miscommunications in the office, but thats par for the course when it comes to a Korean company dealing with Westerners. Myself and another guy wrote a big list of problems that arise and troubleshooting ideas, and these were taken on board. I am biased, but they do genuinely care about improving. Also their after-service is better than any other recruiter I know of.

Yeah, I can give you another BIG list...but as I said...the problems don't outweigh the fact I would recommend them as a choice for someone that wanted to use a recruiter.

At least worknplay only seems to have organizational issues not so much on the "we want to scam you and rip off someone for quick cash" mentality that many other recruiting companies have.

Ann is great at worknplay.

I spoke with Joyce from www.worknplay.co.kr today, following email contact. She seeemed OK. She's got a few jobs and can easily set up some interviews, which I can go to next week.

WorknPlay are legit, but frustrating to deal with. I think those running it do not have much experience, and although they may mean well they often simply do not know how to handle particular situations, and end up doing nothing.

They are very disorganized. Instead of having a checklist of things that are required from the applicant they will tell you things in an "OH BY THE WAY"................I thought I had all my paperwork completed with them last year, left the country, and they started asking for more.

You could do worse. Just be preprared for them being disorganized.

Not sure I understand what paperwork one would need to send an agent. usually a resume and photo is enough. Anyway I just figure they are someone to introduce you to a school and after that I don't expect more from them.

They do all the leg work with immigration. You have to send them all your documents, plus they are supposed to co-ordinate your medical etc. Frankly, the schools don't know much about the process, and that is why they are paying WorknPlay the big bucks.
