My question is this...
Is it a Centrino (non-Pentium) or an actual Pentium M?
I thought the Centrino was like the Celeron?
Sounds like they worded it in such a way as to fool someone into buying less and paying more. |

Am I the only one who thinks you could have answered the question Derrek posed? Maybe you only are in the "model number naming" department? |

"Centrino" isn't a type of CPU. Centrino is Intel's name for its combination of the Pentium M Processor, wireless networking support, and Intel mobile chipset. If a manufacturer puts these items into its laptop, then it can claim it has built a laptop with "Intel Centrino Mobile Technology".
But, you can get the same results in any laptop, with any type of cpu and wirless network card. Centrino is merely a trademark. It isn't an actual product in and of itself. |

It sounds good to me, but I haven't been keeping up with laptops these days. IBM is certainly known for making good laptops, but they're also known to be pricier. What kind of warranty comes with it?
An international one hopefully...

| Go for the second one you posted. If you are doing anything with video you will want AT LEAST a P4 co-processor. P4 with 3.2ghz is hands-down better than Centrino 855m with 1.8 ghz. |

If you do go with the P4, get an extra battery and a good external fan to keep your laptop cool. They tend to run hotter than the Centrino models which are designed for wireless/laptop usage, from what I've heard.

This is true. Very true! I fried a CPU (on warranty), due to overheating. Get a "cooling pad" if you are getting a P4m. Notice the "m" at the end of the P4 there, that is a p4 for notebooks. |

| Yeah...I kind of like the increased speed that the sony offers. But, does it have wireless networking support? |
