Okay. Thanks if you respond. I got the offer on a middle school near Kimpo: 2m, 20 hrs/week, 'supposedly' better than hagwon holidays... but no medical...? Are they allowed to do that, and how much is medical roughly gonna cost me? That's all, thanks for a heads up.

P.S. They know I'm Australian but want me to have an American accent Shocked Looks like watching all those John Wayne movies might pay off... or might confuse the hell out of a lot of Korean kids Laughing

The short answer is that they have to provide you with medical insurance of some kind, either the national health insurance plan or a private plan.

What happens if you slip into an Australian accent?
Is that grounds for dismissal?
Just something to consider prior to accepting the position. Wink

No medical?

No way.... don't take it unless they offer it. My school tried to not offer it too. They do now. They pay 50%.

Medical can be worthless until you need it, however.

My wife, mother-in-law and my medical costs a total of 37,000 a month total.

Don't need the school to offer me anything when we get it as cheap as that.

Something to do with m-i-l having an accident a while back....

That would be funny if they put that in the contract. I'm not overly concerned though... my accent is negligable (friggin' American TV Twisted Evil ).
