I'm doing the run the last Friday of the month and I'll be making a weekend out of it.

This will be my 4th run and starting year three in Korea.

Any nice tour packages of Osaka? I don't know the city well. I'd like to have the transport already set up in advance.

I'm going on the 27th of this month. Thank you so much everyone who posted all that information. I've only ever gone to Fukuoka; I'm new at Osaka.

I'm going with a buddy this Fri - Sat (14-15).

Have NO idea about the C-4 visa, however. I know it is one of the 'proper' ones for teaching camps, but no idea on the costs - sorry.

You may want to try looking in the summer camp threads in the general FAQ by Waterbaby

Regards,

G.

Hi all,

I'm going on a visa run on either the 7th or 8th of this month. Never really been to Japan (the airport doesn't count), so if anyone is headed to Osaka during one of those dates and don't mind a newbie tagging along, let me know Smile

Alyson

Update: Leaving tomorrow at 10 am for Osaka....Wish me luck Smile

The Bobster's doing the Osaka daytrip on Feb 1, next Tuesday. Pm me if you'll be doing the same and we'll hang out in Rising Sun Land for the afternoon.

This sounds very ominous, and a little scary ... are you planning to commit suicide before nightfall?

The Bobster just got back from his visa run. Sadly, Pig & Whistle was not open at 2:30 in the afternoon so myself and the young fella I met and started talking to at the boarding gate went to a little German-themed place downstairs (Munchen, I think it's called) right next door to the Consulate. We had a couple mugs of Sapporo draft, "legular" size, for 575 yen apiece, which seemed a good price since it's very hard to find Sapporro on tap anywhere at all in Korea.

It was a little warmer in Osaka than you guys had it in Seoul, but not much and still too cold to comfortably walk around and explore the place. One of these years I'm going to do it as an overnighter. I kept kicking myself for trying to speak Korean to Japanese people - that ever happen you anyone else?

The directions from prairieboy and others on this thread are good, and helped some, especially the details about specific business (like Subway and Riva).

One caveat to mention. Maybe it was strong headwinds or a delayed takeoff, but we were late by some 20 minutes on our return flight, so what with a trip to the bathroom and a line at customs, the currency exchange booths were closed by the time I got to them. Maybe oughta've changed them in the lobby at Kansai, but the upshot is that now I have some yen in my wallet I'll have to take into a bank this afternoon.

Is the Korean Consulate open on Saturday? I know this has been covered a million times, but I don't have an hour to search. There is no holiday in Japan next Saturday, February 26th, is there? That is when I am planning on going.
