I am being offered a job at MEI in Ulsan. The outgoing teacher seems happy with the city and job but I am still awaiting some details. What is important to me is a good school, a good director (supportive in discipline issues and parent/teacher concerns), a reasonable work schedule and class size - all seems OK as well as good single accommodation and a city with a decent range of activities.
Some concern because they are re-writing the contract and have not sent it to me yet. Hours are longer than recruiter said, kindergarten class (1) instead of 0 as recruiter said, and a lower salary than was offered. I was a little out of it because the interview was by the outgoing teacher at 4:30 AM.
Anybody have any info about the school (mainly) and city?
Thanks so much
but the outgoing teacher and a accomoadation (single, yes!), |

Ulsan is a reasonably good place to live. The fact that they are re-writing the contract, offering less and adding a kindergarten class would concern me. Kindergarten is intensive and will result in you doing a split shift. I would politely decline their offer. |

Ulsan is a hole. It's the Detroit of Korea. |

I'd say it's better than Pohang and a few other places. |
