Lotteria food makes McDonalds taste like the greatest barbecued burgers from the best summer of your life back home.

I suggest going once to develop a pavlovian avoidance reflex

Check out the FatMan Seoul blog. He has reviewed literally hundreds of Korean dishes and restaurants, complete with pictures that set your mouth watering.

-I hate romanization as much as the next person but it'll keep it simple...

-Kalbi is very popular--cook the meat, wrap it in a leaf with some red chili sauce and side dishes and eat. It comes is different cuts of pork and beef...pork is Dwegi-Koggi and beef is Soh-Koggi. A meal between two people of Pork Kalbi should be around 15,000 (if you're drinking water) and maybe almost double that for Beef Kalbi.

-Sam Yup Sal-this is very similar to Kalbi and I really think the only difference is that it's a cheaper cut of pork and maybe not marinated? I've only had it twice and both were with a lot of soju. A little too greasy but still tasty. It might be the poor man's Kalbi?

-Kimchi Chigae--basically Kimchi Stew with tofu and meat in it, served with side dishes. You may find it to be quite hot at first but I quite like it.

-Kimbap-a very cheap food that resembles sushi. I first had it at a school picnic at Gyeon Bok and my stomach churned a bit (I used to hate Seaweed) but I was able to down it. Since then I get regular gifts of homemade Kimbap from a co-worker and now think it's delicious.

-Mandu-A kind of stuffed dumpling, quite good.

-bimbimbap--A lot of foreigners seem to really dig this one but it's not one of my favourites. It's cheap tho and isn't terrible, I usually order it an-kim (without seaweed).

-I forget the name of the cloudy brown soup with tofu that is always served as a side dish but it's pretty good.

-Hot-tok---oh man! I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet. It's freaking cold out and you pass by an Ajumma with a street stand. If you see that she has a griddle then order "hot-tok hangay chuseyo"...you won't regret it. It's basically a fried pancake with brown sugar and some cinammon inside.

-I can't remember the name of the rice cake with hot sauce that you're talking about but it's pretty good.

-Korean curry sucks if you've ever had really good Korea...they use the wrong vegetables, don't use tofu, and it's incredibly weak and flavourless...which really surprised me. Koreans seem to love to brag about their hot food and will always ask you "is it too hot?" It never is and their hot food really doesn't compare to Indian or Indonesian...now that's hot food with flavour.

-I've eaten so many things here that I like and definitely some that I don't but I can't remember a lot of things cuz my memory is shot. I'll post more later.

no way man. if your wife is watching sex and the city that's when you're supposed to sit down beside her and say "oh, that looks like fun".

unless it's one of those episodes where one of those girls who doesn't exist in real life says something like "and that's when janine realized 'i don't need men' and decided to live the life of the... blah blah blah". then yo're up the creek.
