I see the stickies on going to Japan. There's nothing about China.
So I ask: Does anybody know if I could go to Beijing and get it processed in 1 day?
Please say yes, please say yes.
And when's the Lunar New Year this month?
Cause I can see one day turning into four before my very eyes. |

Two things to consider-
- you need to get a tourist visa to go to China( not automatic at the airport)
- they celebrate Lunar New Year too- though the big festivities with the dragons and such is two weeks later I think. |

Thanks Peppermint,
I have my visa and am inquiring about hours during this time.
Do you know if it's in the same procedure there as in Japan?
I always thought most teachers went to Japan precisely because of the visa. |

| i don't know about china, but my partner tried to get his done in the phillipinnes and it didn't work. they aren't used to processing them the way they are in japan, so it might not work. call and ask them how long it will take. |

Hi Badmojo, you will have to call the Korean embassy or consulate to get a straight answer (maybe) about this. My feeling tells me that it's not possible in one day. Most teachers do their visa runs to Osaka or Fukuoka in Japan, and therefore the process is streamlined.
One option you have, is that can check in with Turtlepic, who was inquiring if it was possible to have your E2 processed before you leave Korea, via Fed-Ex to an overseas consulate, and then leave and fly to Beijing and return on an E2. |

Sadly, going to Beijing can't be done in one day.
Japan's the only place that has that ability. |

| Is it next -day service? If so get a 30 buck hotel for a night. I would think a day trip would be pretty dicey anyway. (I'm in China and things rarely go as planned here.) |
