they are in the process of trying to hire three new female Canadian teachers but the teachers want to talk to me first. However, they will only let me talk to the prospective teachers if I'm in the same room as the director and assistant. Hmm...I wonder why? How the hell do I handle this situation. I'm dealing with a director and assistant who try to screw me on every chance possible and I work my ass of catching them and calling them on it. Do they really think I'm going to recomment them?

Check the school's computer for their email addresses.

What a joke!! Stop dreaming, you're not a professional, so don't expect to be treated like a professional.

From the hagwon director's point of view. You're just a contract. Replacing contracts can be quite expensive.

You must be the only highly succesful Ivy league graduate I know who dervives pleasure from trolling on websites for ESL teachers. Utterly pathetic. I wonder what your peers think.

If I was in that situation of having to talk to potential new hires for a school I don't want to recommend (which may be happening in the next week or so), and the director had to be in the same room, I'd give the caller my email address before hanging up.

At least you get to talk to the new teachers. My old boss wouldn't let us come into contact AT ALL. Everytime I tried to leave my email address for him, she would "lose it" or it would "disappear." I finally got my email address to him through a teacher at the school, and told him the truth about the place, about that bitch, etc. He gave his one month notice two weeks ago. Laughing He started working there at the end of August. Laughing Laughing

That thought alone makes me sleep like a baby at night.

Damn, what a horrible, lying bitch. In the future, DO NOT work for Kim Ok-sun in Pohang, or the Ocheon World Prep School. She'll make your life a living hell.

I've also set it up so that if someone types the name of my school and its city on Yahoo search, my web site is one of the first to pop up, long before the school's official site.

Wow you guys need to learn subtleness and sarcasm -Listen there is no need to not have the director in the room - just find out the name of around five infamous Canadians who are convicted of corruption / swindlers that even and sweet little punk Canadian college grad would know - you could even choose a pop icon who is a notorious cheater / abuser / liar.
If you ur HogMaster Boss is Canada savvy use a very current pop figure who just came out or a very ancient one that only historians / students of the Cold Waste Land would know.

Then go- Hey I want to tell you ______ my school is primo you enjoy it here its' like working with _______, _______, _________, _________, __________, and ___________. Do you comprehendo this is the way it is now where was I yes........
By the way not to put you in fear but after he gets these 3 he will fire you I bet - sounds like it from your not so happy boss / worker relationship.

You better hope he doesn't find out you spent New Years with Trevor and Osangrl! That could get you sacked!
Did you see what they did to that cat last night!!! Shocked

I had a nutty boss last year but my current boss would have to be the Korean I admire most, out of the ones I've met.

Had to spend a wek in hospital rather suddenly last year and he was great. Quit my job recently due to circustances beyond my control wasn't able to give the exact number off days notice the contact required. Although he didn't legally need to be he was very understanding and helpful. He has said a few times he thinks of his staff as a family.
He's certainly proven to me he means it.

There are nuts out there, but there are also some diamonds
I am Wrong, if you ever want a safe secure good gig with overtime in Summer and Winter, let me know, They are always looking for new teachers. More hours than you currently have, but far far less hassles, possibly none at all
