How do I get a university job- or any job at all with an employer that doesn't go out of his way to screw the employees?? I want that!
Do people really reply to the posts on Dave's and get decent jobs? It seems like most of the posts are small private hogwans that many seasoned teachers say should be avoided. I have a BA in history. Does that put me out of the running for university jobs? Please, do tell! |
As for uni jobs, they would most likely want you here by March 1, the beginning of the semester. Not having an MA doesn't put you out of the running, but it reduces your options. However, the biggest thing that limits your options is not being here to interview. Most unis won't hire people from overseas who can't come to an interview. Some do, however, so it doesn't hurt to apply. And yes, there are lots of uni ads here on Dave's. However, it's pretty late in the season for the uni hiring period, as most deadlines have passed, but there are still some valid ads. You'd have to get on this right away. |
