I've been doing some research online but can't find many reviews. I found this site that has a lot of goshiwons, but everythings in Korean. Anyone have some places they might recommend for up to 600,000/month?

600,000 is A LOT OF money for a goshiweon. For comparison purposes, I paid 220,000 a month for mine. The room was tinyl and didn't have air-conditioning, but it was clean and there were kitchen facilities. Do you really need more than that?
Just come here and pick one. If they give you problems or it's not up to par, go somewhere else, they're all over the place. I've never actually seen one more than half-filled, and you can stay as little or as long as you like, and don't require anything more than you to pay up the money up front.
I would "reccomend" mine, but I don't remember the name of it and it's really not worth it looking up. You would find a dozen other goshiweons along the way just looking for mine. |

That gosi1 site is good for finding larger goshiwons. You can find stuff from 1 to 15 pyeong. Some with showers stalls in your room. There was one that I found on that site in my area that was about 600K for 10 pyeong, fully furnished, with kitchen table, shower, washer, etc...Depends on how much you are willing to drop. |

So then, all "goshiwon" are not the same?
Shouldn't 400 or more bucks give you a good one?
And 300 or less a not so good one?
Maybe?
====================
Anyway $10/night works for reasonably OK shoebox living. |

That's correct. I once paid 250K a month for something smaller than a walk in closet. 2 blocks away from my old goshiwon, Mith is staying at something larger for 350-400K, with a shower stall in his room. Down the street towards Yeoksam Stn, you can pay 600K for 350 sq.feet and fully furnished. You pay for what you get.

For example, let's just grab one random one off of gosi1:
http://www.gosi1.net/view/gosiwonview.php3?&number=3010
This place calls itself a gosheetel (had to dodge the filter), which is the same thing as a goshiwon, but the pyeong ranges from 3-10, and the price is 250K-840K. There are some photo examples there.
This place is nice, too. They call this a livingtel. http://kr.myhomelivingtel.com/ 6-7 pyeong for 530K. Rooms with showers and the kickass desk is a little more, as I recall.
Officetels often come with bare essentials and appliances, unless it's a full option (konglish- pool option). And you have to pay separately for utilities, internet, soap, laundry detergent, rice, etc... |

ill assume you can read korean? i dont mind spending $600/month for a nice place. i mean, im working close to 70 hours a week right now saving up $ for my trip. i wouldnt mind spending an extra $300-400 for a slightly larger place with some amenities. i guess from the sound of it, i should have no problem with finding a place once i get there. |
