For gear, I do not know about what is included - I would think the hardware, lift tix, etc., but doubt clothing is included - I'll ask Myke today.
Yes, some of the setups are better than others; the group you are 'with' seems more important - so if you have other friends also going, be sure he puts you all 'together' on the rooming list.
The snow yesterday lifted my spirits a little; I hope for a dump that weekend.
Regards,
G.
(ps ~ for the deposit, just e-m and ask him. We pre-paid ours when we first heard)

I love the part in the advert where they say they're leaving the resort at 7pm to arrive back in town at 9pm.
Dream. On.

Oni's links are basically the same images I am hosting at my site, but you can just scroll instead of clicking pic-by-pic.
Mack - Agreed! But, everyone is always pretty worn out after one of these weekends, and being on the bus with a bunch of buds is nice.
After An-myon, dj's actually hooked into the bus karaoke systems, and played tunes from cd/mp3 player/laptop. Drinkin & chatting - time goes by, even when traffic isn't.
(We're driving anyway, so not so concerned).

G. |

the beach was super wicked, this should be fun.
are the condos spread far apart, like what's the farthest you'll have to walk to get to the "main area"?
about the being too old for techno, that'll never happen! |

Ok, update:
I am only going to go with definite stuff here; Myke is going on a finalizing run on Thur, and i can answer any specific questions then IF YOU POST THEM HERE!!!
* Yes, you can get ski gear instead of snowboarding gear.
*Yes, all gear is available; a small extra charge for a 'suit' option (less than 5k) - so bring underclothing & what you can manage, based upon weather/conditions. Pray for a huge dump before, and sunny, right-at-freezing days.
*deposit required for the gear.
*the place is spa resort; the music will be between the 2 big meeting-hall style places (so, there will be 2 separate party places going at any time).
*Condos have fridges; like An-myon, bring what you want. Cooking facilities include range, dishes, etc. - but I would GUESS/ASSUME no 'stoves'.
*They are trying to work out additional food options, but it will cost extra. They learned some valuable lessons from An-myon, so expect higher quality, but also a higher price (meals will be good, but I strongly suggest self-catering or going with the resort options as your first line; ditto for booze)
*There will be the normal condo-esque restaurants/bar for day stuff; night will be the all-night in-house bar setup.
*They are trying to keep the girl-guy ratio as close to 50-50 as possible. Those who were at any of the other events will understand why.
*In the time I've known these people, I have seen *1* incident; some buttmunch throwing firecrackers into an otherwise serene campfire. This is about snow, music, fun, and people. If you don't like these things, do everyone a favor, and DON'T GO!!!
So, any other questions, & I'll see what I can do.

| Just please, for chrissakes, don't degrade any Korean women during this excursion! Absolutely NO photos of cute snowbunnies, dance-induced wet t-shirts, or girl-on-girl, dancefloor action. |

And part 1 of the update, straight from his e-m to me:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok here is the info for the ski rental in order to get the discount you must pay in advance. To make it easier we are going to have it where u can pay at the bus stop prior to getting on the bus. Due to all of the different times we can't offer just one package so by doing it this way we can cater more to each persons choice of what they wanna do.
IF U DONT PAY PRIOR TO GETTING ON THE BUS THEN IT IS NOT OUR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN WE GET OUT THERE!!!
Info we will need will be:
Name, Height, Weight, Shoe Size in Cm, R or L handed.
Have all of this stuff ready and we will take care of getting your stuff ready for u by Saturday Morning. Also on Saturday night we will also have another booth set-up so people can also reserve equipment if they are going to be boarding on Sunday prior to the bus leaving...
1. a day 8:30 ~ 4:30 =usually 53,100 won (minus discount = 40,000 won)
2. afternoon and night 12:00 ~ 9:30 = 64,000 (minus discount = 47,000 won)
3. night and late night 6:00 ~ midnite = 56,000 (minus discount = 42,000 won)
4. morning till late night 8:30 ~ midnite = 74,000 (minus discount = 54,000 won)
SNOWBOARD or SKI and BOOTS 20,000 Won
SNOW GEAR TOP and BOTTOM 15,000 Won
(at Yong Pyong resort it cost 32,000 won for a board and boots)
Ok, asked some of the other questions; expect answers soonish.
Regards,
G. |
