Strange one this afternoon.My Hogwan shares a car park with the city mosque and on arrival at work today the place was buzzing with all the city's muslims celebrating...well whatever religeous festival they are celebrating at the moment.All nice chaps,very pleasant.
Anyway at lunch time all my students came running up to me excitedly babbling on in Korean about how there was a goat outside, tied to a swing, in the childrens play area.Sure enough, when i ventured outside myself,there was indeed a goat ,quite happily grazing on the various bits of green the children were throwing in the rough direction of it's head.
The kids were fascinated by this strange arrival in their play area and it was quite a chore to drag them all inside for their first afternoon class.
After the first forty minute class I let them have a five minute break.Of course they all dashed off to see the goat again.I settled for five minutes peace and a coffee which was quickly interupted by whole class dashing upstairs again...."TEEEEACHERRR!!!!!!!"....speaking to me breathlessly at a mile a minute in Korean ,I quickly gathered from my little darlings that there was something wrong with the goat's legs.
Never one to enjoy seeing an animal in distress I dashed downstairs with the whole gang.My mind was racing with ideas of making a special animal splint to help the goat like Lassie always used to have.
However on arrival at the play area the goat wasnt there....the kids made a b-line for the area behind the slide....when i got there I didnt find the goat as i expected ,but four goat legs neatly hacked off.These were accompanied by an awful lot of blood a huge big knife and a few random internal organs!!
Yuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was sickened.The kids were thrilled which amazed me because they freak out with fear at a spider on the ceiling.
Just thought I'd tell yah  |

Man, I LOVE goat! Haitian or Jamaican curried goat- damn! I even had some great curried goat in Viet Nam. I had a good goat dish in Thailand, also.
What does it taste like? Maybe something between lamb and beef, but not exactly. Goat tastes like. . .goat!
MMMMMMM! Want some now! With some good caribbean beer, or a freezing cold ginger beer. |

OK, fine. I'll take the obvious cheap shot and suggest that perhaps they should've had a dog for lunch. Just to be more culturally sensitive. |
