I am wondering...I will be staying at the same school for another year. My visa inside my passport expires on February 10th and my alien registration card expires on February 25th. My contract ends on February 28th. What am I supposed to do? Which one do I go by? The visa inside my passport or the alien card? And I am staying another year at the same school. This is confusing. Will I need to fly out to Japan before the 10th or what? |

You do not have to go to Japan again if you are staying at the same school. Just have your boss call immigration. You will just have to make a trip down there, I would assume you were to bring your current contract, and possibly the new one too. You boss has to do some paperwork, dont know what tho. But you do need to take a trip to immigration. Have your boss call them on monday. I havent a clue what their hours would be durring lunar new year, they will be closed, but who knows if they will be closed all week.
take care of it the last week in January. |

Your ARC expiration is what you should go by. As the above poster explained, you simply need to extend your visa for another year at your local immigration office since you are staying at the same school. You will need to sign a new contract and get the paperwork from your boss and go down there before Feb. 25, but don't leave it to the last minute. Since you've already decided to stay, you might as well take care of this as soon as you can to avoid complications later, but you should have until the 25th. |
