Who the he// pays to take a class AT SIX THIRTY IN THE MORNING!!!

I mean, study a language at six thirty in the morning??? Are you serious? I guess I could be there to teach, even after teaching until nine thirty the previous night. But sheesh....

It will all be worth it when I get the job at a uni tho, right?

Yes, our univ. had us starting class at 7 am...or was it 7:20 am? Last class ended at 8:00 pm...maybe later....

I remember that some of the staff wanted us to offer classes at 6 am. I choked when I heard that.

In answer to that question....a lot of people do.

Mostly businessmen as they have no other time in their day to do it.

If you want to teach adults expect this to be the norm.

If they are going to have early morning classes the teacher who teaches them should be off by 6 PM at the latest

In a perfect world, yes, but since adult students who can't/won't do the morning classes like to take classes after 6 p.m., we all know that this is why split shifts are almost inevitable at adult hogwons.

There just isn't enough demand for afternoon adult classes to make teaching adults possible as a full time job with block shifts at most adult hogwons.

I'll still take it over teaching kids.

I was interviewed once at an adult hagwon in Jongno where the schedule was something like 5:30 - 8, 11am-1pm, and 7- 11:30.

Thankfully the housing was garbage, and thus I had a second reason to keep looking.

I've found teaching kids to be easier in some respects because adults all have conflicting demands for their English, and they're not steady customers. On the other hand, adults dont try to grab your equipment

BERLITZ

6:45am - 9:10pm

First school I ever saw that had beds for teachers to sleep in.

I'm not joking - bunk beds, at that!

Those early morning/evening split shift jobs are not worth it even if the pay was 3 million.
