With rice and peas............... gahhh one thing I miss from London is West Indian food..... |
Yes, and I am sure the unitiated think by "rice and peas" you mean those little round squishy green things and a scoop of bland white stuff! West Indian peas and rice! I think the Puerto Ricans make the best.
If you get to Manila some time, go to the Ciboney Caribbean restaurant on Remedios Circle in Malate. Killer Caribbean (West Indian) food. I had some great goat in Manila.
Regarding the goat- I am sure the goat met no worse a fate than the cow that provided your beef, or that pig you ate last night. His execution was just public, not in a slaughterhouse. I doubt the kids (well, the children anyway) were traumatized (the goat's kids might have been). Children here tend to have a better acquantance with the grittier realities of life than us sheltered children of the west. |

OK, fine. I'll take the obvious cheap shot and suggest that perhaps they should've had a dog for lunch. Just to be more culturally sensitive. |
Beat me to it. |

I know I'm going out on a limb here but I think this may be the work of cattle mutilators. I don't think it does any good to blame Koreans or make them scapegoats. Anyone doing this is just bearding you on. Ummm...sorry I think I have milked this for all it's worth and now I feel a little sheepish. |
