I'm a bit curious about this. Things that I want to take into consideration for the use of my phone, whether it be a cell or a land line, go like this...

Whats better for long distance, specifically to Canada?

What does a cell cost per month, versus a land line?

I'd imagine you can get voice mail on your cell, but does it cost extra or more on the land line. Is it better to hook up an external old school answering machine on a land line?

In conslusion... yes I did read the FAQ. I want data that is relevant to 2005 please! Smile

Get both. A landline is very cheap indeed. Even on your own you only pay about 8-10k a monthly if you dont use it much and use a nice cheap phonecard for your international calls which are toll free with all international phone cards.

Mobiles are very useful. In Korea a lot of stuff 'just looks the same' until you get to know the place. You can locate your friends when out and about on the town or call 119 if you fall of a cliff up a mountain and knaacker your ankle.

Also you can text people with mobiles which is always useful.

Get both. They're both cheap anyway....

I dont use my landline much but it is better for international calls or if you run out of battery power on your mobie.

You can do without a landline, but NOT without a cell!

This is true, but looking at my bill for the last month, I'm regretting not getting both. Talking to the GF on a cell for any length of time is pricey

Willie,

I noticed that too when my fiancee and I first started dating... the cell calls added up! Shocked

But now we've gotten one of the couple plans and for about 20,000 won/month (maybe a little more but not much) we get something like 500 minutes each free and a really unbelieveable number of text messages as well. It might be worth your while to look into getting one of these plans for you and your girlfriend...

Very Happy

Yeah, it's good idea. I own the phone myself, so I dont have to ask my boss for permision to alter things...
