i was a little annoyed lastweekend by a few koreans. I met up with a group of friends and they were with some koreans. we head out to the bar in two taxis. I'm in the taxi with the koreans and we arrive first at the bar. Being in a generous mood i bought a round for the three koreans and myself. Later on not one of the koreans bought me a beer. KOreans are normally very good at this. Sometimes even in a rush to get you the next round. I was surprised at them. Last time I go drinking with korean university students.

The only time I used to count dollars was when I didn't have much money during my student days - but it was never a problem because most of the people I went out with were poor students who were also counting dollars.

These days, I couldn't care less about splitting bills or who shouts who. Just this week I've had dinner shouted one night and another night drinks shouted. Tonight it's my turn

I guess my point is, the people in my life that I socialise with have similar sensibilities to me - I'd probably be pissed off if one of them was a continuous tightarse (unless they were in financial trouble) and always penny pinching, mooching, and even worse... EXPECTING to be shouted ... but I just don't hang out with people like that anymore.

I'm not so concerned about losing the money.

I am just a little troubled by the people who control the money. Sometimes, the remaining money is significant...is it appropriate for them just to pocket it?

I think the simple solution is just to eat and drink more when you go out!
