Yup, that's what I was thinking when I watched it.
Pretty embarrassing that people back home here must have at some point seen that on TV and thought, isn't that what TECO is doing? LOL! |

Not that I disagree that them focusing on social maladjusts gives a bad impression (bad apples and all that), but considering the kids are little more than paydays in this business, I dont think there's much point in bemoaning the shoddy EFL education business.
The standards in Japan may be higher, but from what my buddy who spent a couple of years there has told me, and my own experience hanging out there, it's not an army of education degree-slinging MENSA members their either.
Until English teaching becomes controlled by the various governments, and a bare minimum of a B.Ed. required, it will always this way. |
