I live in Andong and highly recommend Hahoaemaeul, although i've been told its much better in the summer. The mackeral restaurent you're talking about is very... out there. I haven't met many westerns who like the fish, its definitelty an aquired taste. |

| Kyongju and Chejudo are good and so is Chollado, especially Boseong tea field and Danyang bamboo forest. The people in Chollado are calm and polite, totally unlike Seoulites. |

My Seoul friends tell me Chollado-saram are all country bumpkins who talk funny and have 6 fingers on each hand. |

My co-workers are Chollado-saram, and I always remind myself never to ask them for pronunciation hints.
You might try the Korean Folk Village, which is in Yongin (about 50 minutes south from Seoul on the bus). It's rich in historical info, and you can see a (staged) traditional wedding ceremony, and some gorgeous music and dance as well.
If you want to spend some serious dough, take the 5002 from Gangnam and hit Everland! It's a jaw-dropper. Not so much the rides, but the whole atmosphere just makes my head spin. I hear good things about the amusement parks in Seoul too. |
