New chef? Confused

When they started reducing, reducing and reducing the size of the 7,500 won BLT sandwich -- and then stopped doing it altogether (while also cutting another item from the menu that I liked) the 3 Alley just ceased being a meal option anymore. Whaddaya know, yet another reason not to go there, along with no hope of getting a seat for Quiz Nite, hassles & failures to reserve tables, etc. Our team came to the conclusion one fine day: "You know, I bet Gunter will get along just fine without us stuffing more money in his pocket."

Oh, I liked the place -- mainly because it gave me a whole 4-5 hours to practice my English! Wink Just that I'd like it that much more if it weren't so far and we could count on getting a seat. Even at the bar would be fine.

Hey, wanna start the "Gunter/3 Alley" thread? Very Happy

Or possibly the "Crikey -- one more overlap and I'm calling SOCK on Wangja and Guru" thread?

Yay for Crikey! People always laugh at me when i say crikey.. or golly gosh.

Anyway, back to the topic.. I always reserved seats at 3 Alley's... why risk not getting a chair? They were reluctant to do it but then I'd make up some excuse *it's my birthday, it's my husband's bday, wedding anniversary..blah, blah, blah...*...

I haven't been there last year at all.. has the food gone downhill?!

I thought you didn't live in Seoul and weren't familiar with the city... Yet you know Gunter and 3 Alley, and you reserve tables there... Confused

I don't live in Seoul and I am not familiar with the city.. but I do know where the popular joints are! Actually, my mother-in-law lives in Yeoksam-dong in Gangnam, so we frequent it quite often. Almost all my husband's relatives are in Seoul. I just don't know the gu/dong names except the more popular ones like socho, or gangnam or samsung or dongdaemun... you get the idea.
