Are you refering to Gimcheon?
If you are talking about the city near Daegu, then I can help you. I don't know about Gimcheon itself, but if you if you want to meet expats and teachers come to Gumi. It is only 15 minutes away from Gimcheon by train. There are at least 40-50 of us here. There is a thriving social life. You can find us on a Friday or Saturday night at the following nightclubs: Psycho, the Rolling Stone, and the S Bar. PM me if you want more specific information about meeting.
If you are actually talking about a city called Gumcheon,
I never heard of it. |

If you mean Gumcheon near Paju, your best bet is to get down to Ilsan (Jeongbalsan station). There are 2 clubs haunted by foreigners there, Don't Go and Soul Train. I lived in the Ilsan area for a year and its a really decent area to meet people. As for Gumcheon, I had a mate who did his first year there and only ever talked to some mormon missionaries, Pakistani 3D workers and the odd GI.
Cheers

My wife and I live in Geumchon. I think Gumcheon(gu) is actually an area in Seoul. We're in Paju-si, north of Seoul. We've seen the Mormons, so they're still around.
Not much to do here, especially at this time of year, unless you want to practice your singing and drinking skills.
We haven't been here much longer than you. Got here at the end of August. We can try to help you get around Geumchon if you like. Send me a PM or an e-mail. |

Is the Alphabet City English School still kicking around, and is Lee Young-ae and/or her brother still the owner? |
