I think I have finally found a Korean school that suits my schedule and preferred learning style: EZ Academy in downtown Seoul. I have gotten one glowing recommendatin about this school from someone who's only been studying for four months, and can already hold her own. I know the school teaches with the communicative approach using Sogang University's textbooks -- all of which is great, as far as I'm concerned. I think it might be a one-person operation. I'm cool with that as long as that one person is reasonably hard-working, organized and dedicated to the students.

Has anyone here taken classes at EZ Academy? Anything you can share is appreciated.

Thanks!

I do hope that the S.L.P. in Hong-dae, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, located right across the street from Jenny's Cafe, is not associated with this institute: The owners of the S.L.P. in question stole my American passport, lied to me about my schedule, and, inter alia, forced me to buy my U.S. Passport back from the ill-minded owners of the institute pending a complaint to the U.S. Embassy.

Oh, the South African director of the institute, a guy who calls himself, like his wife and two others from his village who teach at that institute with a very bad "English accent," a native speaker of our language, nearly assaulted me in front of the former Rocky Mountain Tavern in I'taewon, Seoul, because I asked him about his mindless support of the academy's owner.

<snip>

An independent school using Sogang University's Korean studies program textbooks has nothing to do with SLP. But if you know something about EZ Academy, please let me know.

It's near Chungjeongno station (one west of City Hall station). If you're interested in a beginner class two or three days a week in the mornings, call them. They're looking for people to fill up a class for me.

PM me for details.
