Asian women, for some reason, think that they have to look like westerners (caucasian) to look good. They consider big eyes, big boobs, small waist, medium sized bum to be the best (i.e. 36-24-36...). I always find it funny when my family tells me I am fat, just because my waist measured 26 (pre-pregnancy) and not the ideal 24 or smaller. Of course, I ignore them... but if a woman lacks self-confidence, this kind of *ideals* can actually traumatise them, hence the constant strive to look their best at all cost!

Even the most ardent patriot would not describe South Korean cities as beautiful. A dreary expanse of undistinguished concrete blocks does little to inspire the first time visitor.

One qualified surgeon told me he knew of psychiatrists doing liposuction and radiologists performing double eyelid operations. Cosmetic surgeons tell hushed stories of botched noses, damaged faces and women who cannot close their eyes at all after too much of the lid is cut away.

But in one recent case, an undercover TV crew filmed a liposuction operation at the surgery of a gynaecologist. The operation was performed by the salesman from the company that sold the machine. At one point he invited the gynaecologist to hold the suction tube, to groans of pain from the unfortunate patient.

The government seems more interested in keeping the doctors happy than in protecting the public as a whole.

I just watched an MBC news report on the BBC report. The wife said (I can only watch not listen Very Happy )they were just telling about the article, not damning it or anything.

My roommate in college was Korean(gyopo)...man was she the most annoying b*tch ever. Not ony was she a drama queen, but I regularly heard her bulimic bouts in the bathroom and she must have had two or three eyelid surgeries...she looked weird. But when I confronted her about her "vainness" and her bulimia she said she would rather die (and she was serious) than marry a poor guy...or in her head, marry a guy who didn't drive a BMW or Mercedes. Rolling Eyes She said that she'll pay whatever money it takes to get as many surgeries and vomit as much as she has to in order to land a rich guy. If she wasn't such a b*tch, I would have felt sorry for her but I don't.
What some women will do for a rich guy...sure screws them up, that's for sure!
