I had some university students I detested a while back, but i didn't do anything about it. This dude would try and get me to finish the class early, because the work we were doing didn't appeal to him. Once he stood up when I wasn't finished and said it was time to finish. I let it go and gave him a D for his grade anyway. ( wish I had given him an F instead). I used to yell at the students if they missbehaved, but I couldn't bring myself to do it, because he spoke good English. As well as that I never used to feel that good after yelling at the students anyway.
One of the other students tried to get the better of him, because he was kinda domineering. Wasn't popular it seems, and of course I helped the other student.
That whole situation though still rankles me for some reason. happened a while ago, but i have never forgotten it. Just can't seem to shake it off.

But with a uni student couldn't you just tell him to leave and then tell the others that one will be getting a shitty mark? I wish I could do that with hogwan kids but of course we have to give the parents their money's worth... even if the parents don't realise that if they complain in hte wrong way I quit caring about their kid entirely.

Yea. I sometimes kicked students out of the class, but I couldn't find the right diplomatic technique to do it. Last time I did it I used the Korean for "get out" "nagata" or whatever it's supposed to be. I yelled it at the guy and the whole class went into shock. I think I tried all kinds of things while I was teething as a university teacher.

In my previous post the guy who rankled me was kinda big too, so I might have been intimidated.

Len8 don't take it to bad that you yelled at students. I can remeber hearing of a guy where I worked who called a student "michi nome" in front of whole class. There was another guy who out of frustration with the students would yell "F--k". Not just once but several times. Did it because he was exasperated with them.
