I've always wondered who has worked at YES Youngdo on these forums...
Anyone out there with them? (besides me, duh) |

What's it like? I met the owner a few weeks ago. |

Hey Nate. I, too, am at Youngdo. I am a regular reader here at Dave's but a rare poster. And I would recommend Yes Youngdo to anyone considering it. |

Yeah, I just finished a year at YES,
Met some great people and enjoyed the job. I'd recommend them as well.
I don't care much for the head teacher, but the manager of my branch was great.
What the hell was with that party last month?
We were told twice it would be an open bar.
When we got there all ready to hit the party juice... 50,000 for a bottle of wine and 10,000 for a bottle of OB
That really suxed, as did last years Summer Vacation.... Wed, Thurs, Frid, Mon Tues |

Oh I know... it stunk.
You all have a head teacher? I've been trying to get one.
Good school, but the management is a little disorganized. |

Did you all know that most of the Korean staff are members of a Christian church run by the owner? He's the grand pobah apparently. |

I hear that Lawerence (sp) in Anyang has taken some sort of management role. He apparently has no degree, experience or qualifications for the job |
That would explain a lot |

Don't know the name, just one of those faceless christian churches that have exploded in Korea over the past 20 years. |
I've heard this before too.
As far as management goes, it seems to be a family thing. Not the best way to do it. |

Doh! I didn't bring a flask cause I was told twice the party included free booze,
I did however try the following line with my boss which resulted in him buying two bottles of wine for our table:
"We were told drinks were free, so no one brought any money.
We have to get up on the stage soon and sing in front of 400 sober people, for God's sake give us alcohol!" |
