Just got edonkey on the computer at work but its not working. I did a search for a program, but nothing happened. It says that 3/45 connections are up...what does that mean? Can anyone help?? |

I've got the same problem because I'm on a LAN. The router needs configured for things like e-donkey to work well. You have to talk to whoever is in charge of the computers. There's a faq on the e-donkey help page on how to do it. |

My connection is very fast but with e-donkey it's weird. If I get a good download it can come in at 300kbs. That's about as fast as file-sharing gets. But thats an exception. Because I can't make many connections due to the router I can't connect to many users.
In my last apt I was on a normal modem connection. I could get over 150 connections and over 1000 sources on e-donkey. Meaning I could get really rare files and most things came in pretty fast. Now I average about 8 connections and 200 sources. Nothing like before.
If your computer has a firewall you need to configure it to open the ports e-donkey uses. The faq tells you how. Pretty easy.
If that doesn't help things it probably means you're going through a router somewhere which restricts your connections. |

The connection problem is probably due to an XP SP2 updated computer which only allows10 connections at a time unless you patch your OS. |
