What is BNU paying? Like 1.4?

About 1.5 for only 9 hours a week, but if you do overtime at their institute, then you can make a lot more than that.

So, only one of you super-geniuses got hired? What a bunch of no-names. I thought the arrogant jerks on this board had this country all sewn up. Guess you rockstars like colouring and fingerpainting a little bit too much. Thirty top shelf jobs and the geeks that hang out here posting about how much money they make and how many yepun yojas they wax can barely make a dent. It would appear that Korea and the rest of the world are a bit larger than you assumed.

Dave's ESLcafe.com comes up one for thirty at Hongik. The only guy that gets hired has been posting here for what, a week? Well done, boys. And I mean that in the nicest sense of the word.

At least some of you tried and were able to get off your asses and go to the interview. The rest of you are beneath contempt.

Well if you got passed by on the 1st round of interviews.... maybe you'll get a second chance. I was one of those passed by, but just got an email (that was sent to about 20 other email addresses) which read that they are still looking for other people to interview on the 15th. Good luck everyone.

Never liked the area much.

I'll leave Hongik the young guys/gals who like to party.

Well, if it means anything, I remember "know-it-all" posters like Mr. Pink (who now goes by another sock, I'm sure) telling me how I'd, "fall flat on my [your] face..." when I took on my high school job.

By the way, Mr. Pink... just signed up for year #2. I guess I didn't fall as hard or fast as you thought, eh?

I just hate hagwons with a passion. High schools, unis, things that are somewhat regulated and pay you on time where the education as a business model is somewhat toned down, these are the places you all should be looking. We all know that all hagwon owners are snakes, why don't we encourage people to get out of them? We allow them to use us through our apathy.

To anyone who got this job or knows someone who did...

What is the vacation situation? *some nice proto-EFL rap there*

It's 22 weeks per year. Camps are optional. Truly.

pyongshin sangja, i'm not quite sure who you were directing your posts at...but i've been posting for longer than a week...

ajstew, i'm rootin' for a good interview for ya! i dunno why they're still hiring - guess some guys didn't work out or bailed? they already had TONS of interviews though.

fyi, this job was posted on Dave's about a month ago (read the OP). is it a top shelf job? don't know if i'd say that, but it definitely beats hagwon land. yet no matter how i slice it, i'll still be making less than at my current hagwon, even if i do camps during the vacation. Sad
