Stay strong, bro. You're getting this visa for a cushy uni job, right? After this ordeal, you deserve it!
BTW, if it makes you feel any better, can I tell you that I am incredibly jealous of you for eating Wendy's cheeseburgers? They sure beat Mickey D's and Lotteria! |

| I took the JR Beetle Hydrofoil to Fukuoka. When I bought the tickets it was 95,000 won one way or 173,000 won (tax included) for a round trip ticket. That was in Busan. I am not sure of the price in Fukuoka. There is a slow boat that you can take that can be a lot cheaper. It takes 12 hours compared to 3 for the hydrofoil. There was also a 400 Yen Port tax you have to pay. Good luck to you dude ^^ Remember, adversity makes you stronger, not prosperity. |

| That's right. The slower boat is called the Camelia if I remember correctly. |

Here are the prices from the home page. http://www.camellia-line.co.jp For some reason there's no one-way price for adults, just a 'way-back' price, second from the top. Assuming you don't want the most expensive room, I think a first-class place would be 9000 yen, and 2nd-class would be 7650. I think.

The time has changed since January 2005; now the boat leaves at 12:30 and 18:00; gets into Pusan at 8pm and 8am the following day. You'll probably want to go with the later departure.

That's the phone number for reservations, I think. If you're in hakata, goto Rainbow Plaza, that place on the 8th floor of the IMZ building I told you about. If you don't know where it is, go to Hakata station and ask people. They pronounce it i-mu-zu. 'Imuzu biru wa doko desu ka?' or 'Imuzu biru wa doko ni aru to?' (local dialect) Everybody should know where it is. The people in Rainbow Plaza should be able to help you make reservations. |

I like the way Giovanni Ribisi (the photographer husband) in Lost in Translation pronounced it... Foo-ka-wa-ka.... Sounded like Fozzie on the Muppet Show.
Anyways, good luck with getting back... I'm actually worried about my 3 days in Osaka next week, as I will have barely any money at all until my paycheque goes through... Which means that one international ATM near the consolate better be in order on Thursday!
