I'm looking for this book for a class. Does anyone know where I can find a copy? (Yep, checked "What the book" of course!) |

I saw a couple copies at the Yong Poon bookstore in Jonggak station on the number 1 line.
This was two and half weeks ago. |

I've seen them at the Kyobo bookstore in Kangnam, and if all else fails the publisher (BCM) is just down the street. |

I bought it a couple months ago at Kyobo by Seoul's City Hall. You might also want to check the Seoul Selection website. I think they deliver (not sure about payment options). |

I bouth it at Kyobo in Jongno about a year ago. They also have ones for Chinese and Japanese too, but a lot of the things are the same or pretty sinilar. It`s really cool because it`s written in both languages, so you can show your Korean frinds, too. |

What do you think of that book? Some of it is on the mark, but some not really. I was not shocked to see people sleeping on subways, or several other things. And some are exaggerated for sure, only true sometimes. It points out things as though they are always true, but they are often stereotypes. How many westerners do not take off their shoes? How many kids call their teacher by first name?
The pictures are funny... like the foreigner (or local) is so shocked to see behavior not familiar to him. Hey, what a surprise, people in different cultures do things differently.
But the pictures are funny in those books, showing faces with a look of real shock that the people from another culture behave differently. |
