| I think it sums up the talent of the league when Lang is one of the best players. On the other hand I think the product the NBA puts out on a night to night basis is garbage so... |

I also am a fan of chris lang.....he works hard and is a good team player which most foreingers in the lague are not. Just look at the rise in SK standings this season. they are sure doing a lot better.

Actually KCC(Kumgang Korea Chemical) has its hand in a lot more than paint, check here http://www.kccworld.co.kr/english/. Egis would be a part of the KCC chaebol.

He put down 52 a couple of weeks ago but LG still lost. He really isn't helping them as he does a lot of dumb things at times and is a ball hog. Granted the team around him is sucking big time though.

I stand corrected. I knew it was something about paint and chemicals and whatnot.... I haven't been to a game yet. I might go to one this weekend....I'm more a rugby fan than a basketball fan anyway.... |

i wasn't impressed with scales when i saw him play...but again, it was his first game for Samsung...he seemed to shoot a lot and not make anything. but he has gotten better over the season.
lang is avg. 22 points a game and 11.75 boards along with 2.2 blocks a game. not too bad.
anyways, check out my baseball forum (in signature), it has a section for the KBL. |

Honestly, I'd have to say the basketball here is pretty awful. I was born in the UNC hospital and I've watched a lot of ACC basketball, including Kris Lang, and the Korean league is way below that quality. It's definitely way below on the intensity scale too. It's just 2 bored Americans making most of the plays. I've never been a huge basketball fan, but I can't even watch those games for more than 5 minutes.
That said, here's an interesting article feature Kris Lang and the team translator:

That's a good article.
I certainly agree that this is the KBL and should limit foreign players. Israel, and other pro leagues outside the US also have that 2 foreign player limit.
And it's not all bad. While it's lower than I expected, the Korean players can play a bit. They're just not overly athletic. Many can shoot, and a few can drive and slash a bit. |

| There's an incredible amount of pro sports leagues in Korea. I went to football, baseball, basketball, and volleyball matches. If I had been more adventuresome, I could have even taken in some ice hockey! |

A few more questions...
Does the KBL's season parallel the NBA's (beginning and end)?
Is there a post season? |

It starts about the same time but finishes a month earlier, they play 54 regular season games.
Yes there is a post season, top 6 out of 10 teams qualify.
Usually lasts a bit short of a month. |

Now that's just crazy, but hey.......
Anyways, I watch a couple KBL games on a week and I find them pretty entertaining. A couple of the American players are actually really awesome players.
And the cheerleaders damn sexy! |

I actually watch women's b-ball in Korea and back home.
I had watched every televised game of the WNBA in its first season, and many in its next few seasons.
And I have to say the league play here in Korea isn't bad. Entertaining enough. (Last year there were more games on the tele than this year, for some reason.)
The women's game is always more focused on passing, without all those annoying showmanship moves after a basket.
Though, I have to say, when it comes to b-ball, men's or women's, nothing compares to U.S. college in terms of intensity. |

What's crazy? The KBL isn't good because one of it's best players (Lang) couldn't even crack it in the NBDL. The NBA has a severe shortage of defense and effort.
Sure, maybe the KBL is entertaining because the game of basketball is great and the atmosphere is good (ie hot cheerleaders ). The NBA produces some good highlights and has a ton of wasted talent. Those articles that pop up in the news back home around this time of year crying about how the midrange jumper is a lost art and the players lack hustle are pretty much on the money. |

If Korea has all these sports (soccer, volleyball, hockey, baseball and basketball) what are the websites for those sports. I live about an hour from Seoul and I would love to take in these games, even the "substandard" ones. Hey poor hockey is better than NO hockey.
Any help on those five sports would be appreciated.
Cheers,

Don't know the websites for the hockey... there are a few different leagues but someone else will have to help out with that. |
