This has to be the weakest attempt at "subtly" plugging an auction I've ever seen....

Not holding my breath.
SEOUL, Feb. 22 (Yonhap) -- Sony Corp. said Tuesday it will delay by up to two months the debut of its popular PlayStation Portable (PSP) game console in South Korea, promised for next month, because it cannot make enough machines to meet rising demand worldwide.
The Japanese electronics giant had planned to begin selling the PSP game console from March in South Korea, in line with the machine's debut in the United States. However, as a result of the shortage, Sony will only launch U.S. sales of the console on March 24 as planned, Sony Corp.'s Korean affiliate said in a statement. |

I'm planning on buying one of these in Canada next week when they are released. I have a question about adapting the power. I got a tentative copy of the instruction manual for the North American systems a while ago. For the input on the AC adapter it says it is AC 100-240V, 50/60 Hz. In the pictures it look like the same kind of 2 part cord setup a laptop has. Does this mean it would be safe to plug it into a travel adapter to charge or will i have to wait until the PSP is released in Korea and get a proper Korean power cord? For that matter will it be safe to do that with my laptop? Any help would be appreciated before i drop $300 on this thing. Thanks.

Looks like the Korean release will bring a lot of firsts:
The Korean PSP launch will include a Network Utility UMD that provides
a full web browser, on demand video, on demand music, e-book reader and other features. It seems reasonable that this UMD will become widely
available at that time.

It makes sense that they'd do this in Korea first. KT's Nespot service is phenomenal (and one of the few things I miss about Korea). While the functionality would be welcome in Japan, there just aren't the hotspots around to take advantage of it. |
