Years supply of tampons. Korean ones are pathetic and american ones aren't that much better.

Two words: the keeper. Never met a woman who went back to tampons or pads.

Absolutely. Actually, the brand I use is Instead. Awesome, especially for travelling.

Bras and underwear. Unless your flat chested or want custom made bras.

I generally agree with this. But I recently found one of those fly-by-night stores in an empty storefront that sold underwear. It was a lot of work, but I found 5 bras that fit and a few pairs of panties, too!

If you are larger than a 36C American, this might not work for you. Embarassed

Well I guess it all depends on where you live?

I live in Eugnam and I have a shop around the corner, and know of another little shop the next suburb over that sell Salt and Vinegar chips, deodorent, cosmetics, condoms and other sort of things. Not too expensive either.

As for antacids just go to the chemist and ask for Mylanta...all ove them have it (although you will have to say 'Meee-lanta').

You can get pretty much anything here you want. Seriously I don't know why people complain about not being able to get stuff here. You just have to be willing to put in a little foot-work.

Now im off to prepare some gravy and mashed potatoes....excuse me!

- Your favorite cold medication like Neocitrin. Koreans run to the doctor when they get a cold and get a weird assed packet of pills and weird remedies (like arthristis medicine for a cold). I'm not sure any of it actually helps.

- A big wrap it all around you towel. You can't seem to find a good sized towel here.

- An english PDA.

- Taco powder.

Well, that's just it. When you've just arrived and you're trying to figure out a billion and one other things, you don't really have the time to do "a little foot-work" to find a product we take for granted like Tums or a big bottle of ASA. Yes, it is fun to figure things out and go "Oh if I go five subway stops over I can buy single garlic bulbs at this one store instead of buying the entire production of one garlic grove... and then I can go two blocks up and get antacid and then I can go 3 subway stops over here and buy Quaker Oats and then this one Lotte downtown sells good cheese..." But at the end of the day, if you had to do that in your North American city you'd actually complain.

No I agree about being for the first time and not knowing your way around will be difficult.

My point was that people complain about not being able to get stuff from back home here, but if you put in the effort, then you can usually get what you want.

Having said that, I haven't being able to find a store that sells Promite. Time to ring the sister again to get her to send some over I guess! Smile

Big-sized towels are at Costco...last I looked, they were on sale for 4,990! Disgusting colors, though!

Bring one or two (depending on what it is!) of your favorite "comfort food". Those of us who have been here for a time know where to go to get what we need, but when you first come, having a packet of "cup-a-soup" or a handful of ??? might just get you over a rough spot!

Have a "teddy" from childhood? Bring it! Carry it on, if you must!

Body issues....much?
It's your body, honey. Nothing to be ashamed, embarassed, or freaked out about. The most together women I know taste their fluids to know if they're ovulating or not. It sounds like you need to get to know that part of you better. Relax. Unclench. Take a hot bath. Have a little jill session using a compact mirror so you can see what you're doing. If it makes you more comfortable, give it a pink, euphemistic name like "flower" or "kitty."
