|
|
I've had things shipped to me several times since I've been here, but usually first class mail. When I was home at Christmas, I shipped a box to myself parcel post. The USPS website says it should have taken 4-6 weeks, but it's been more than 7 and the box hasn't shown up yet.
Question: Have you had things shipped parcel post from the US? How long did it take? |

I've had a couple of things arrive a week or two after they were supposed to. The boxes were beaten, abused, opened and reclosed but they did arrive. |

OK, thanks. I'll wait a couple of weeks before I really start to panic. |

Hard to say. I have had friends mail me things that took any where from 6 - 11 weeks. My mother once sent me magazines and I never got them.
who knows.
If you ship something to your school address that usually is better then your "home" address. |

Every time my family has sent something from America on regular post, it's taken two months.
My stuff gets there in 10 days max. |

Ninety+ percent of the stuff I've had shipped over has been either books or educational materials, both of which seem to go through customs pretty fast. That said, here's the run-down.
Surface mail has taken anywhere from 6-10 weeks, with an average of 7 1/2 weeks.
Airmail packages have taken anywhere from 1-4 weeks, with an average of 2 weeks.
Global Priority has gotten things here in as little as five days. My sister's homemade fudge, however, took double that to clear customs and arrive. |

Thanks for all the replies guys. I was trusting the USPS website which said 4-6 weeks (economy parcel post)... silly me!
I hope it doesn't get stuck too long in customs. It's a really random mix of stuff that was sitting in my storage unit in Utah that I figured I could use here. What concerns me is that there are a bunch of old videos... I hope they won't try to charge me import taxes on 'em. |

So, it finally came... 9 weeks to the day. GRRR.
At least everything was intact.

I would love to do a nice little class action suit against the USPS. I have never had anything shipped here in the time they say. |
