My student read the article for me. She said that the star was wearing workout clothes when she did it. She slashed her wrists with one of those razor knives our students have, then hung herself. Also, she wrote, "I'm so sorry" to her mother in blood. Eeeew.

Apparently, she has spoken to her mother and brother the day before, and retired to her room. When she didn't come out of the room by 1pm the next morning, her brother thought something was wrong. He went in and found her there.

The family stated that it was her nude role in a recent movie that was bothering her, and was the reason for her suicide.

She was also a hypocondriac and suffered from insomnia.

I'm sure more information will come out tonight.

Being the superficial male, it's a shame that a woman of her hotness should do the hari-kari. Why must the beautiful people die? WHY, WHY!?

Oh, and I forgot that she had an obsession with making more and more money. She wasn't content with her life (obviously).

Gee, makes me less content with mine, in a way.

I was asked to appear in the TV show, "Bulsay" last year, which she starred in. I was going to do it, but shooting schedules changed to freakin' 5am and I had school that day. I said, "no" and was VERY glad I did. It turns out that every foriegn actor in that show got nailed for illegal work! I always insist that we get it OK'd by immigration, which isn't difficult, but takes some legwork. Generally, that keeps the offers away.

This is the truth, and I kid you not -- this same woman who killed herself was a friend of my agent. She was helping him pick out foreigners for the show, and she told him she liked my look for whatever little part they needed a foreigner for. I'll have to give him a call to see what he's heard.

So sad.

wisecracks about suicide- very classy.

I don't think tzechuk is making "wise cracks" about this woman killing herself......I'm not sure what was in the "xfiles" about her...although I'm pretty sure my husband downloaded them...I'll get him to translate for me to see what was said about her. But I must say...I'm shocked...nobody else even considered the possibility of something like the mob being involved...? Quite a few posters have said that most of the actresses have less than perfect reputations here in Korea...perhaps she was in with the wrong people...I must admit when I read that she cut her wrists and then hung herself....I have to wonder how bad the cut was....I've never tried to kill myself ......is it possible to have that much strength after you have done something like that..?..to get a "rope/makeshift rope" ready....hoist it over something....all this while bleeding...hmm... I can see why one might consider the possibility of someone else being involved....interestingly when I read tzechuk's post marilyn munroe came to mind....strange....

This is what my Korean friend seems to think also. The movie was called "Scarlet Letter". I watched it. Not a great movie. The big scene was her and her lover locked in the trunk of his car for days on end. It certainly wasn't vulgar nudity and the context took away any cheap nudity accusations.

Seems she bothered herself as the Korean media, for once, didn't persecute her for it.

You're not wearing your CSI thinking cap. It's possible she rigged that up before slicing her wrists.

Hey Canadian-in-Korea, if your husband downloaded the X-files, see if you can get a link posted so others can see if. I read those Joongang articles and am very curious what else is around.

I first took notice of her in Au Revoir! UFO, which wasn't very good, but she was very attractive in it, and playing a blind girl as well. And she was good in Taegeukgi as well. I was really saddened to hear this news. I don't know anything about her or her personal life, so I was pretty surprised to hear about it. What a tragedy.

English articles from the Chosun Ilbo, Korea Herald, etc., are SO SANITIZED. They cut out anything and everything that might put Korea in a bad light. So much so, that I'd argue you're not getting news from them, you're reading propaganda.

Many articles that might make Korea look bad are never printed in the English version, even if the are the top Korean story.

Dogbert (or was it SeoulTrader?), didn't you say a few weeks ago that the "X-Files" actually posted $$ figures on how much it costs to bed various stars for an evening? Maybe it was someone else who told me that. We sure as heck didn't get much information from the English-version article links someone gave us earlier, that's for sure!

Definately sanitized for non-Korean eyes!

It is a shame when something like that happens...

It just goes to show that you can supposedly have it all but it can drive people the way to death.

I had a close friend who commited suicide and it is just awful. The funeral was so terrible, as here is this person cut down in the prime of their life and who had their future ahead of them. The looks on the parents faces made me break down.

The thoughts that go through your mind, could I have stopped her, why didn't I do more, if only I was just there................

My thoughts go out to her friends and family.
