Has anyone worked for editing companies in Korea, especially Harrisco? I am interested in feedback about payrates, visa status etc.

www.worknplay.co.kr

There are free job ads on there, for a short time longer.

I worked for an editing company in China. Be sure you can read/speak/understand Hangul on a near-native level before applying because otherwise it's going to be a rough road....

quadra you just described my job in China- I was tearing my hair out daily cuz I had no clue what they were trying to say and so had no idea what I was supposed to write. Also, there are layers to consider- the Chinese translated , I edited, and my boss, a Hong Konger who lived in New York for 30 years gave his approval. Often what happened was that since he was bilingual he would talk to the Chinese, who would tell him what they meant to say and then he would rewrite my editing accordingly. After which he would start moaning about how he was doing all the work I was being paid for.

Quadra what did you do about being paid? I am planning to go home soon and do the work from there. Not sure about the legalities of it though. What happened for you?

Quadra, would you be willing to give the name of a reputable company that hires native english speakers to do editing work? I taught ESL in Pusan for almost 2 years but am now back in Canada and interested in doing editing work from here.
