Well, yeah, but my way's more satisfying.

Yes, some of these posters are indeed hard up for cash, paying down the student loans, etc. And endeavoring to negotiate their way through hagwon hell. I can't speak to your smugness, but I started out the same way, until I decided to stick around and work my way up the food chain. Give these guys a break. They're still finding their way in this land; they still don't know where to buy a can opener, and after that, they don't know where to buy a can to open. We've all been there. Be kind. Be understanding. |

Not really. To paraphrase another poster, I'm far up the food chain from my kiddie hogwon days of hell. I haven't been in such an environment (and never will again, ever) for more than 6 years.

Actually, almost 9 years, now.
And no, I have not just found Dave's (nor am I a sockpuppet). I had an ID here many moons ago, but forgot it in the intervening years. I just haven't seen the need to post here until I started posting over at efl-law recently.

Thanks for being so condescending. Or maybe you didn't intend it that way?
Go somewhere new. Then figure it out. It isn't easy. I just dislike this look down on the newcomer vibe thing that occurs on this board. Total silliness by fools. It's still a damn foreign country after 5 years for me. And so are many other I have and haven't set foot in.

Anyway spitting is bad!
I had a kid intentionally sneeze on me. Reflexively I punched him. He was an OK kid but seemed to think that was funny. Kids can be dumb. Make teacher sick... ha ha. |

Fair enough...I came on board (no pun) in '97...but took a few years off. I remember my ID (Edumakatid Elmer)...but couldn't recall my passcode for the life of me.

You want to talk about children? Where have you worked and what do you know about Korea? Understanding? I am a paragon of virtue. |

| Some good stories and some pathetic remarks. For those that think they are high up on the food chain, congratulations! Chains can be broken and I'm not impressed. The idiot father who spit on me did so while being filmed. I caught him, he tried telling the court that I disregard Korean people but this idiot also sings "beeping U.S.A." and states America don't help my country. America kills my people "Yankee go home." Now, who disregards who? I intend to do what I can to see that this guy cannot sponsor foreigners or at least Americans as English Teachers again in this country of S. Korea. You long timers have let these people spit on you for way too long, I am going to do what I can to stop them. Illegally fired in the 11 month of my contract and they think they are going to just send me home. I don't think so, I have endured much and will continue to do so. I haven't been here long(approx two yrs) but long enough to know a bit about the law. My Wonjang told me "You will learn about the Korean law." Like that scares me. I intend to have them lose face in court before the Judge. I have a good case with documentation(getting the documentation ain't easy) and video. Am I the first? Check my post in Q. and A. Who else(you long timers) has done squat to stop what and how foreign teachers are cheated as teachers? Am I the only one that is attempting to win in a Korean court against a GUILTY Wonjang? |

-Why do you tell the full story after hearing what everyone has to say first???
What are you trying to prove, that you are some hero or something.
Kudos to you for bringing this wanker down but why after everyones opinions do you turn on them with comments like this

| I was out of here, supposedly there was an agreement(negotiation made) and I was sending my friends and family back home e-mails informing them that I was coming home. Guess what, they renigged! What a surprise. That was about 6 months ago. I am the author of this post I don't have to tell the whole story at the beginning. I tell it how and when I want. Besides, I plan to write a book(with my Korean friend so that there will be two prospectives, foreign and Korean). and make people like you buy it! Or, maybe take it to MBC when the case is complete to counter what they have said about us Foriegn Teachers. |

Disrespect here? I am simply telling the truth, you sound like them when they said I spread rumors. A rumor is when someone who hears a story from someone like me firsthand and then spreads information about what was said. The information spread is most likely not completely the same. You know that game when you begin a statement and see if the statement comes back the same way? That is a rumor! Sometimes the truth hurts. The truth is not disrespect, are you Korean? |

Hey, "Just Because!"
Are you trying to compare me with my Wonjang when you suggest that I not respect long timers or whatever when I made a comment. First look back, it wasn't a comment it was a question. You told me cudos or whatever for bring them down, but do you really mean that when you immediately try to compare me with Wonjang. This board is not known unusual for disrespect. Why don't you make those type of comments all day to all those people on this board who ask what you call a disrespectful question. I don't deny it can be seen as such but I don't care. |

The comment was not made to impress, so I'm not surprised that you're not.

I've never been spit on in the almost 9 years I've spent here.

I've sued, won, and successfully put a lien on my last boss. So what? Winning the case and collecting on the judgement are, you will find, totally different. It's been 2 years, and I'm still waiting for my COURT-ORDERED money.
Really and sincerely, I hope your luck is better than mine in the collecting department.
