Anyone see the latest exchange rates? It got as high as 980 to the dollar before retreating back around 1006. I just sent home 2,000,000 to take advantage of the rates but should have waited a bit more.

The is going to keep rising against the dollar to what most people predict a max of about 920-950 by summer. I'm going home in April/May for a month, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to cash in a bit!
I came over at 1200 per dollar, now under 1000! Gotta love that!

Now you know why Canadian expats strut around so much! It's good to have a tanking currency! |

Yup, it was something else to be in Korea in the early-mid 90s.
20 pyung apartments shared by 2 teachers. 1.2 salary, with 100K for bills and 3k spending left for over a thousand USD savings per month, for the frugal. |

Get Ready for the Greenback Going Into Triple Digits
Sooner or later, the dollar will plummet into three digits. Both the government and the private sector had better be prepared for the dreaded W900 mark. After all, the best way of coping with a stronger won is to improve competitiveness through managerial rationalization and technological development.

Intrepid,
Just like Korean teachers, right? The salaries and living conditions have stayed the same for Korean teachers, right? |
