That's a really difficult situation to keep under control.

Everyone gets picked up from one location and taken to "secret party location". All the cars are parked in a compound and you can't access it until the next afternoon. This isn't a perfect method but at least it helps a bit.

The police in my town fully support Safegrad, as do most parents.

That's exactly what I had in mind when I talked about controlling the event.

I could definitley see a problem if some kid got sick or even died after drinking to excess. Then, the school would probably be liable if they gave him the alcohol.

Do the kids need the parents permission to attend SafeGrad? And do they sign some sort of a waiver form?

Yeah, permission slips are required for those under 18.

Also, in my town, the event is technically not school sponsered. All the planning takes place at school though. There is a commitee but no teachers are involved. The location is crawling with parent volenteers and you are taken home if you appear to be too drunk. So far my town has been lucky and no serious problems have come from the event. One girl got tipped over in a port-a-potty though Shocked Laughing

Right. According to some of the more racist Korean nationalists, foreigners only want to make easy money and corrupt women. They also claim foreigners should be taken out of the classes. Where have I seen this before?

Makes me want to see their next rally. I'm really curious to know if they will be goosestepping to Korean pop music hits.

Thankfully, like everywhere else, only a minority of people in Korea are fascists.

The teacher in question could have discovered a new form of classroom control. In future, instead of sending students out if they are 'bad', make them scull half a bottle of soju.

There dash for the toilet could remove the stress of having to raise your voice to tell them to leave.

I was talking with another highschool and she wasn't surprised that a teacher bought some students alcohol. She said a teacher bought her class some beer on a field trip. Not enough for the students to get drunk on though.
She said none of the students brought their own alcohol so the teacher bought them some.

Students bringing their own alcohol, sneaking out to get some, etc. I'm not surprised by that. But the teachers doing it?
Wasn't there something about evil foreign teachers buying their students alcohol on one of those tv programs.

Yes, but it was much worse than that. They were saying that some foreigners are getting their students drunk because they are sexual predators. I'm sure some do, and I would imagine some Korean teachers as well have done so too, but the whole exposee is ridiculous because it fuels xenophobia. It was aimed at foreigners, not at bad teachers in general.
