Does anyone know where I can get a good pair of shoes for running, jogging, the gym, etc. Reasonable price, too. I don't consider 100,000 won for Nike 'made in China' crap to be reasonable at all.

Try a different company then. Asics are a cheaper and decent for running.

Here's the deal, shopping Korean brands is fine for sporting goods, but shop carefully or you'll get crap which may injure your feet.

The best place I know is the Dongdemun stadium. There are a lot of stores selling poor quality knock offs there, which is fine for a T shirt, but not for your feet. You want to aim for the stores which actually line the outside wall of the old stadium. These tend toward name brand stores. Unfortunately I don't know which brands are good. I got some soccer shoes from KIKA which are quite nice, and I suspect that if you go there, or to another name brand store speciallizing in something other than running shoes, they can direct you to a good brand. Or one of your students can.

Just remember two things. 1st it's usually good to go with someone who speaks at least a little Korean functionally.
2nd, these are your feet we're talking about, and you only get two of them, so if you're not comfortable with what you're getting, you should back out and get something western that you are comfortable with. Also, in that regard, it may well be cheaper for you to do but them online.

Good luck, if you get no satisfaction feel free to PM me
