Okay, I had a desktop built and picked it up today.
It is way better than a laptop (120 gig hard drive, way faster speed, cd/dvd player and burner, etc.) But it doesn't have that sleek, carry away quality of a laptop. Aside from the eventual move, I don't plan to be lugging it around anyway, so reason prevailed, at two thirds the price.
