Obviously, computer companies and car manufacturers are high on the list. And, technically, General Electric is not an electronics company, it's a conglomerate of several industries.
Samsung and LG are incredibly successful in the mobile phone technology industry, two of the world's top 5 companies.
No surprise that the Fortune magazine's most admired list is mostly American companies. |

I do.
KT's service far exceeds anything I've ever dealt with in America. At home, it's like pulling teeth to get someone from Verizon to fix your internet connection. With KT, I call the Megapass English help number and a technician's over the same day.
At home I always preferred Samsung cell phones too. |

Well, I'm impressed by how LG electronics managed to shed its old image after having produced some of the worst home electronics ever under the name Goldstar (remember those cheap brittle-plastic sound systems on sale at K-mart. My friend cried for 2 weeks when his parents gave him one for Christmas). Now, it's on the verge of becoming a major brand.
Hyundai auto has been making pretty good cars since 2002 (design facilties are now in the US).

Samsung, LG, KIA, and GM/Daewoo. Hyundai not for the cars but for their big department stores. |

I admire LG for having the guts to maintain the tradition of employing a face reader in its personnel department. |

Not to take away from any korean company..but...many korean companies are doing well in the U.S., Canada, etc. not because of koreans...but because the marketing, after service, etc is being done by non koreans.
Many korean cars are being built in the U.S. as well.
If you had only koreans doing the marketing, building....it would not be as successul as it is now. Koreans know they need foreigners to sell and build their products in other countries in order to succeed.
What works for koreans in korea would not do well elsewhere. Especially the business practices. |

I thought LG stood for 'Lucky Goldstar'. |
