By "consul" do you mean the PS2 controller?

What you are thinking of is "emulation" on a PC and it's highly unsuccessful. There are emulators for XBox, PS2, Gamecube, etc.. but they haven't managed to get more than one or two games playable.

You could get a game controller for your PC...at least that would get you used to the controls....that and then get the same games they are playing.

Either that or get one of those USB keyboards for PS2, and take it with you whenever you visit your friends...

You want something like this, I guess:

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=55&products_id=3172&

I've seen similar adapters in homeplus.

Also, despite what Demophobe says, you can get near-perfect Playstation (not PS2) emulation on PCs these days, which would help you get used to typical Playstation control systems...

I was talking about modern consoles, not seriously old hardware, and indeed, I am correct.

We can "emulate" Atari2600 games on the PC too....

Asteroids anyone? Pong.....? Laughing

Sheesh, you didn't say that though, did you?

That, as a general statement, is utter rubbish. Sorry Smile

FWIW I can emulate most 1st gen consoles on my phone. Who needs a PC? Rolling Eyes

If all the guy wants to do is get used to a Playstation controller, one of those adapters plus a PS1 emulator would be fine.

~ First, no I didn't say that, but the OP stated PS2 specifically. My mistake for thinking that's what he wanted. Rolling Eyes

~ Why are you sorry for your opinion?

~ Yes...play on your phone. Lovely.

~ Finally, good of you to repeat what I said originally. It is, after all, the best advice, and seems to be the OP's best solution to his problem. Heck, if that's what its all about, why get the emulator?

He mentioned Playstation too Wink Possibly using it as a generic term to mean PS2, but who knows?

I'm not.

Yes, it is. Smile On one of my phones, anyway - the one designed for gaming. On the others, it's just a good way to spend idle time.

PC games rarely cater well for joypads. A PSX emulator would require the same kind of control ability as the console itself. It's not just about the hardware Smile

Not exactly - but I may well have done in any case. It's a nice phone, and great for playing games on.
