If someone lost their passport, would this interfere with their Visa status? Everyone gets the Korean Visa in their passport when coming to work here. Without this stamp, would your E-2 status be lost?
The reason I ask is because a friend of mine lost her passport and received a new one from her embassy. If immigration came to her school and if she was unable to produce her Visa, could she be arrested and taken behind the school to be beaten?
That is what immigration does, isn't it?  |

| Her visa is still valid but she needs to go to immigration with her new passport pronto. There are potential fines if she dallies. |

| When it happened to me, I was able to get the proper stamps from immigration at the Gwanghamun office, near Kyunbokkung. Several years ago, but it might save a trip to the Woop Woop. |
