I've been asked to work with an adult who needs to learn to read in English. Does anyone have any recommendations for good beginning reading materials--for adults? |

i have 'formal' materials for this, but generally all i need is an alphabet (on board or on paper) and just help them sound the letters out.
for exercises, i do flash cards and 3 line paper exercises.
I have a book called "Bingo" that i like to use. it's on sale in korea. the handwriting parts aren't too long or too short, and there are a bunch of small line drawings that fit well on index cards.
the flashcard thing works really well if the other side has pictures, then if they don't know the meaning of the word, i can just show the picture. |

I used to be a literacy tutor at home, give me a little time and I'll come up with some things for you. |
