Go to the manufacturer's website and sniff around on it. I know that Maxtor had excellent customer service of theirs when I was trying to set up my Maxtor as a slave, including downloadable utilities, patches, and tips for the physical connecting of the drives (turns out that it DOES matter which connector - grey or black - goes to which hard drive... )
Having said that, it really shouldn't be that hard. You can use the c prompt (start / all programs / accessories) and type the format command - just make sure you enter the right drive letter!
(Someone else was asking about on another thread and mentioned using the Windows CD on startup and formatting from that, but I don't knwo if you can format a slave from it...) |

Is the new hard drive listed in your hard disk drives in "My Computer?" If so, can't you just right click and 'format?' |

RAW disks won't show up in Windows as it's not a file system. Through the system recovery console, you can do what you need. |
