1. They are so polite, will get you water in the restaurant, hand you your chopsticks, always thank thankyou etc.

2. The dress much cooler than koreans, and much much cooler than me Smile

3. It's Japan baby. Samurais, manga, crazy ass porn. Japan is mega interesting, I've been there twice (no not just on tourist runs and I'm still completely clueless about it)

4. I like learning about the different parts of Japan. The different areas seem very distinct. I have friends from kyoto, osaka, hiroshima, hokkaido and like hearing about all the differences. I often ask koreans where there hometown is, but in truth I don't care that much Embarassed

5. They are more open to talking about sex than koreans. What else is there to talk about really.

6. Japanese sounds cool and they will teach you bad words more readily than koreans.

7. They know more about western stuff and are more likely to be into the chilli peppers & decent music than koreans.

Things I don't like about hanging with japanese people. When speaking korean they always seem to want to use very polite korean. A lot of the time I'll just use banmal anyway if they are friends and I'm never quite sure if they are annoyed by that (note to self, ask them one day)

So why am I not in Japan?? good question! I do obviously like that japan and western culture are more similar (in some ways) at the end of the day, the uniqueness of korea wins out as far as wanting to live here. Glad I made some japanese friends though, they are good fun.

I have found that although Japanese are more open about it, they are not any different to Koreans when it comes to 'doing it'.

most Koreans I know are just as open about talking about it... you just have to know how to approach the issue.

Fair enough. But if even one girl there is a prude, then you have no chance of discussing it beyond the 'all Korean girls are virgins' BS.

cant say all japanese or koreans are like that..
the japanese I met in korea were tossers!
the girls are sweet.. but the guys can be same as some lame ass C**K blocker Korean. when I stayed in Tokyo I found them to be polite but so are koreans in most hospitality situations..
Koreans mean well.. but many of them can be real A HOLES.. just as can be Americans or Canadians or new zealanders , aussies.. its all about the person!

but from what I have experienced Koreans seem to be more mannered about pouring drinks, offering you, paying for dinners, etc.. than japanese are. but thats only what I have experienced! so I cant tell you how it is!

Travelling between Korea and Japan, I found the people to be worlds apart. The majority of young Japanese people have the 'cool factor' that is so lacking with Koreans, especially the men. Korean men are not cool, period>

Korean men also have a huge chip on their shoulder or complex about westerners 'stealing their women'. Japanese guys just don't have this complex that is so evident in Korea. Maybe comes from the servant/master part of their history.

Also, how people travel is a huge reflection on who they are. I met so many independant Japanese travellers when in Europe and Central America, but the few times I met Koreans, they were in groups. Sure there are exceptions, but Koreans are one people that I have learnt that generalisations 'stick'. They never seem to want to integrate. Also, they move in packs in Sydney and Brisbane. Why travel?

Come to think of it, the only time I saw a solo Korean travller was in Mexico City. In the hostel, she was the lonely despondent vision in the corner slumped over a pot of steaming ramen, while everyone around her was munching down hostel made tacos. Shocked

I like Japanese people.

Most of my experience with Japanese people has been primarily in my Korean classes, but I've found just about all of them to be quite friendly and interesting to talk with.

One thing I really like about the Japanese is their fashion sense. Now, I don't like all of it... but I respect the individualistic flare that they're trying to achieve. As an American, I like that.

Koreans, on the other hand, are much more conservative in their dress, and you rarely encounter women who catch your attention by trying to do something a little bit different.

Nah, I'm pretty sure there's at least one or two million out there who don't give a shit where you stick it. (My unscientific response to your unscientific opinion.)

My best friend got married last year, she works for an interior design company in Tokyo, makes major yen, he sits at home and watches t.v, his reason for going to Japan was the fact that his cousin married a Japanese girl, works for Sony, and lets him drive her sports car around while he sits on his buttt and watches t.v. Here in Korea I have mostly seen the opposite, the man teaches all day, the girl sits at home and watches t.v, or has a part time job teaching English. Also.......Japanese girls are not as borderline, and psycho!

Nah, I'm pretty sure there's at least one or two million out there who don't give a *beep* where you stick it. (My unscientific response to your unscientific opinion.)

Corporal, as a women, how can you know anything about this subject at all? It not like you date Korean girls and have to deal with Korean guys that object to it.

Rolling Eyes

You probably also think that, should I have a son someday, I shouldn't be able to give my input as to whether or not he gets circumsized, because after all, I don't have a p.enis.

You are very wrong about this, good sir. I happen to have extensive experience in dealing with psychotic Japanese girls.

Anyway, I really like hanging out with Japanese people. When I lived in Korea and would go out with Korean friends, I always felt like I had to hold back my emotions and thoughts for some reason. With Japanese people I feel much more relaxed...dont know why. They seem to have a much better grasp of some sort of reality than their Korean counterparts.
